Mulligans for the Homeless PDF Print E-mail

ATTENTION GOLFERS
Our Mulligans for the Homeless group has worked very hard to get ready for a big day ( or two ) in March for a golf tournament unlike any I have been a part of. We have 19 courses signed up to participate in the event, so there is bound to be one you would like to play.

Now we need GOLFERS, we are asking you to join us. If you don't play, share this information with someone that does, please. We can accommodate almost 2,000 players so you see we need all the help we can get; every player that signs up not only gets to spend a day on the course but will also receive a ticket package valued at over $100.00 which is the cost to play.

Tickets provided by The Texas Rangers, Texas Brahmas, Fort Worth Cats, Billy Bob's Texas, Stockyards Championship rodeo and a $10.00 cash card from Golfsmith.

We can also use companies that would be interested in being title sponsor of one of our courses, it is affordable since this is our first of what we plan on being an annual event with a lot of promotion behind it.

Go to our web site and let me know what you think, www.mulliganshome.org, share this with your friends.

Rodeo Plaza Update PDF Print E-mail

In 1986, a portion of N. Commerce Street between Exchange Ave. and Stockyards Blvd was closed to create a pedestrian walkway for the Stockyards and the area was renamed Rodeo Plaza. Removable bollards along with other enhancements were added, however, the area still looked like a street and did not encourage pedestrian traffic.

The Project included:

  • Beautiful new Gateway at the south end of the Plaza near Exchange Avenue with Antique Pipe Bollards to restrict vehicular traffic, but permit pedestrian access
  • Refurbished, signature Gateway at the north end of the Plaza on Stockyards Boulevard with addition of gates and enhancements to the arch
  • An attractive, accessible Gazebo
  • An enlarged Ride-Out Arena, with a new cover, pipe fence and viewing arcade
  • Improved Landscaping
  • New Light Poles and the "Texas-sized" spurs near the South Gateway are a component of the public art by Artist, Steve Teeters

We appreciate your cooperation in restricting access to the Plaza.  Please share this information with your staff, guests and vendors.

Look for more updates soon regarding additional programming and maintenance in Rodeo Plaza!  For more information, call us @ 817-392-2502
